At Fall Creek Place Animal Clinic, we want to be your teachers and guides through this process by giving you the educational materials and advice you need to give your pets the best and healthiest lifestyle possible.

The doctors at Fall Creek Place Animal Clinic are highly trained and experienced professionals. They work side by side with some of the best and caring support staff in the industry to give you and your pets the best medical care. Compassion and concern for your pets’ safety, comfort, and well-being are our top priorities.

The entire team at Fall Creek Place Animal Clinic has a tremendous desire to meet the amazing people who call Downtown Indianapolis their home. We want to be your neighborhood veterinarians. Fall Creek Place Animal Clinic is part of City Way Animal Clinics, a small group of veterinary care and pet grooming practices that are 100% veterinarian-owned and operated. Our current locations include Fall Creek Place Animal Clinic, Mass Ave Animal Clinic, Fountain Square AnimalClinic and Furr: Pet Spa & Wellness Clinic, all located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis.

CEO, Chief Medical Director, Veterinarian

Butler University, B.S. in Biology, 1992
Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, DVM, 1996

Personal + Professional:
Dr. Phillips has been a veterinarian since 1996, a veterinary clinic owner since 2000, and owner of City Way Animal Clinics since 2012. His special interests include canine reproduction and English bulldogs. When he’s not working, he’s reading up on entrepreneurship, business, and how to craft an excellent cocktail. He enjoys traveling, live music, and good food.

Loves of his Life:
Kurt and his wife, Julia, have two awesome kids, Emma and Jude. They’re empty nesters now, but are still busy taking care of their two dog-kids, Jenner (Vizsla) and Lexington “Lex” (French Bulldog).

Personal + Professional:
Ken brought his passion for health and animals to City Way Animal Clinics in 2011 as a veterinary technician, and has risen through the ranks to our leadership team. He has a passion for community outreach, team culture, and animal wellness. When Ken isn’t making sure things are running smoothly at our clinics, he’s focused on molding a healthy lifestyle. He has a passion for physical and mental health, and you can often find him at the gym.

Loves of his Life:
Ken and his husband, Mark, shower their love and affection on their only French Bulldog child, Augi.

Personal + Professional:
Dr. Shaw came to City Way Animal Clinics in 2018, but has been in the veterinary field since 1999. Her special interests include integrative veterinary medicine, pain management, and soft tissue surgery. When she’s not at the clinic, she’s enjoying a quiet pint at a local brewery, globetrotting, and will attempt yoga every now and again. Sleeping is one of her favorite past times and she adores a good duvet.

Loves of her Life:
Liz and her wife Anne are the minions of two distinguished kitties. Davos, their FIV+ street find, loves to wake up at 6 AM to patrol his property and is affectionately called “The Man Cat.” Lady Squishington of East St. loves all food and belly rubs (we think she might be canine) and is a former clinic cat from Mass Ave Animal Clinic. She’s much happier in her new home.

Personal + Professional:
Dr. Neyenhaus came to City Way Animal Clinics in 2018 and has been a veterinarian since 2004. She is full of knowledge, with years of experience at emergency, specialty, and general practice clinics under her belt. Her special interests include internal medicine, pain management, and client education. She loves being outside, especially hiking, camping, and organic gardening. She enjoys reading, making cookies, and cheering on her kids at sporting events.

Loves of her Life:
Patti and her husband Ryan have three kids and four furry companions. Hagrid (Goldendoodle); two cats, Gryffin (short for Gryffindor) and Hufflepuff; and their guinea pig, Violet make their house a home. Violet will be getting a sister friend soon!

Previously a South and East-sider, Dr. Neyenhaus loves getting reacquainted with downtown Indy.

Rachael brought her leadership and care to City Way Animal Clinics in 2017, but began working as a Veterinary Assistant in 2009. When she’s not loving on her animals, she’s watching Indy Eleven, wrestling, and playing with eye shadow – because she’s fabulous. Rachael is an undefeated Harry Potter trivia champion who loves podcasts and craft breweries.

Loves of her Life:
Rachael has a growing family of fur-babies with Braun (cat), Otter (Basset Hound), and a new Basset puppy, Tonks!

Personal + Professional:
Amber brought her love for all creatures to City Way Animal Clinics in 2019. When she’s not at the clinic, she’s singing, listening to music, and hanging out around Indy. She loves traveling, camping, and nature.

Loves of her Life:
Amber and her partner, Rebecca, take care of a small zoo together! Their dogs Jersey (Pointer mix), Daisy (Pitbull mix), Slim (Lab mix), and Chance (Lab mix) share a home with their four cats, Milo, Neko, Maverick, and Goose. Oh, and don’t forget the two geckos, Mac and Aroni!

Personal + Professional:
A veterinary assistant since 2016, Rylee came to City Way Animal Clinics in 2017. Her special interests include animal behavior, surgery, and integrative medicine. Rylee loves building relationships with patients, especially puppies and kittens! When she’s not studying, she’s cooking, hiking, reading, or painting.

Loves of her Life:
Rylee and her boyfriend, Cesar, have two dogs, Lottie (Mini Aussie mix) and Bill (Yorkie mix); two cats, Chicken and Concha; and one blue tongue skink named Kilo.

Personal + Professional:
Maria came to City Way Animal Clinics in 2018, but has been a veterinary assistant since 2007! She has a special interest in animal behavior and is Fear-Free Certified. When she’s not snuggling her cats, she’s gaming (WOW + Guild Wars II), playing Dungeons & Dragons, or lurking Reddit. Maria is learning digital illustration and loves hiking, reading, and yoga.

Loves of her Life:
Maria and her husband, Andy, share a home with one dog named Finn and six cats, Ferdinand, Rufus, Pug, Darwin, Evie, and Orion.

Veterinary Assistant

Personal + Professional:
Michael brought his compassion and care for animals to City Way Animal Clinics in 2018 and has been in the veterinary field since 2016, starting in Bloomington. He loves animals of all shapes, sizes, and varieties. When he’s not treating his patients, he’s drumming, skateboarding, and lounging with his kitties.

Loves of his Life:
Michael has four siblings and a niece. His best friends include his two cats, Mordecai and Cowboy.

Personal + Professional:
Leslie came to City Way Animal Clinics in 2019 with an abundance of experience and has been working in the animal care industry since 1985. When she’s not talking to clients on the phone, she’s practicing nature photography, going to concerts, and spoiling her pup, Hammy.

Loves of her Life:
Leslie gives all her love to Hammy (Poodle/Shih-Tzu mix) and Wren (cat). Hammy and Wren are besties. Hammy enjoys the outdoors and showing his kitten sister the ropes.
